Counselling

All of us experience difficulties and challenges in our lives. We are often able to address these problems on our own, or tackle them with the help of friends. However, there are times when counselling or psychotherapy can be the most helpful source of assistance.

Professional counselling and psychotherapy offer assistance to people who are troubled, whether in their personal lives or at work. They also help people who may be looking for a way to develop their potential to the full.

What is counselling?

There are many different types of counselling – humanistic, CBT and psychotherapy, to name just a few. In counselling sessions, the counsellor will encourage the client to look at their life, and help them to make their own choices through the process of talking and looking at behavioural patterns. The ultimate aim is for the client to be able to manage their own difficulties.

What are the benefits of counselling?

In addition to help with specific goals or difficulties, clients who undertake counselling may experience a general improvement in their quality of life.
